“ The food was absolutely delicious. The service was great and I love the atmosphere there. The whole experience was inclusive and enjoyable. The only thing to be aware of is the waiting time is longer. But if you are not in a rush then why not wait with patience while you can talk and chill with your friends? Overall I really do recommend it and it is such a nice place to go to if you are free and do have time to wait. Nice food, nice service, nice environment! Absolutely wonderful experience! ”

The staff were exceptionally attentive, professional, and willing to go above and beyond to accommodate any requests. As a coeliac, I mentioned my need for a gluten-free meal, and the entire team immediately sprang into action. They informed me about potential cross-contamination risks but reassured me that they would do their absolute best to prepare my meal in the safest way possible. All our meals were cooked to perfection, with expert culinary presentation to top it off. “ I went to the Ouseburn cafe with my 5-year-old for Saturday lunch and we had a really nice, relaxing time. The cafe space is comfortable, with lots of natural light and a play kitchen set for little kids. I had a delicious and filling roast squash dish with chickpeas, hummus, and kale. My daughter had a picnic box and lemon drizzle cake. Could not fault the service, and the whole feel of the cafe is very friendly. It is very reasonably priced, especially given the quality of the food. Tipped more than usual as this goes to staff, many of whom are volunteers. ”
“ This cafe is gorgeous in lots of ways AND run by Smile for Life /volunteers supporting young people with learning difficulties. I got a lovely vegan brownie which was really rich and yummy. Prices are great. The cooked food looked spot on so will be trying that next time. They stop serving cooked food at 230 at the moment. Service is very friendly and attentive. They are dog and family friendly. The setting is gorgeous, a lovely bright room with comfortable pretty furnishings. Toilets were really nice too. ”

Whether you want something savoury like a hash bowl, or if you’ve got a sweet tooth like me I’d recommend the pancakes. Probably the best I’ve ever had. The cafe is dog friendly and everyone is always really welcoming. I’ve also ordered birthday cakes in the past which were also phenomenal and beautifully decorated. ”
